Brushstrokes in Metal

Hello! I’m having one of those days when nothing is easy. Probably something to do with baby needing to be held all of last night, which I spent on the rocking chair. So here’s one of my favourite manis of recent times to cheer myself up. It’s got no stamping and was a quick freehand design I did a couple of weeks ago.

The base is two coats of the beautiful Cadillacquer Exhale, a pale minty green-blue with tiny orange glitters and orange-green metallic chameleon flakies. Over that, I did some quick dry-brushing with two metallic polishes – my favourite gold, Maybelline Bold Gold, and a metallic red stamping polish, Hit The Bottle Poison Apple. I finished off the look with a few dots using black stamping polish, and then a layer of matte top coat (I used Tonic Polish Liquid Velvet).

Let me know what you think of this abstract mani. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, but my love for stamping combined with very limited opportunities to do nail art have pushed this down my priority list. I do really love it though and am so glad I got to try. It was super quick to do too – I think once the base polish was dry, the entire “art” took less than 5 minutes!

I hope you’re having a better day than I am. Until the next post, toodles!
