Day 12 of the nail art challenge, and the theme is stripes. When I looked at the list of prompts for this challenge, I didn’t give “stripes” a second thought because I thought it would be right up my alley. Wrong! This has been very difficult & frustrating!
I patiently tried four different striped manicures and hated each – I couldn’t control my striping brush, stamping wouldn’t work, I smudged my nail polish… I’ll admit my heart wasn’t completely in it because of all the terror attacks in the last couple of days (my home city being victim to one) and I was doing this more as a way to focus my thoughts than out of passion, but this frustrated me infinitely! I was going to give it a fifth attempt today, but I think it’s time to move on. I didn’t take pictures of any of the attempts but one, so that’s the one I’ll post just so I can do the next challenge (animal print, another thing that’s not me… but I knew that would be a challenge the moment I looked at the list…). I really don’t like this manicure; I just kept messing up and trying to do more to cover it up… But here it is:
The base colour is Wet n Wild in I Need A Refresh-Mint, the stamping & art were done with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On and Fuschia Power, along with Sally Hansen CSM in On Pines and Needles and Sinful Colors in Innocent. I apologize for all the ranting & negativity, but the world sucks right now and I hate this look. 😦
If you would like to join in this weekly nail art challenge, post your pictures on your blog or other social media and tag the picture with the hashtag #31dc2016weekly. Secondly, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I usually add new nail art pictures to the gallery. I will not be doing this with the weekly challenge. These posts will all be available under the nail art tab [Nails → Nail Art → 31DC2016], and will not be displayed in the gallery.
