Hello! I am down with a cold, and now Baby ACD is following suit. We just got back from a trip to the US, and we must have picked up a bug at the airport. I have a lot to say right now, but no energy to do so.
Anywho, I did a quick mani for a giveaway by Creative Shop. The theme for this week was anti-glam, so I went with a look inspired by grunge fashion – a simple plaid and denim look.
On my index, middle and half of my ring finger, I am wearing two coats of Illyrian Polish Strange. I fell in love with this polish when I saw swatches last summer, and went on a mad hunt for it in destash groups. I eventually managed to buy it, but it was held hostage at my sister’s place in Texas until our recent visit! True to its name, it is an odd colour, somewhere between mauve and taupe, with vibrant green shimmer and a generous helping of scattered holographic particles.
I stamped over this base using two stamping polishes by Born Pretty; BP-WT03 (The Noon Sunshine) and BP-BW03 (Ingalla). I used Creative Shop plate-158 for the plaid pattern.
On my pinky finger and the remaining half of the ring finger, I used one coat of the dark and sultry Tonic Polish Dorothy. This is another one of my destash finds that were being held in Texas and I couldn’t wait to try it on! I need to use this one again soon. Over this, I dry brushed the texture using some white polish.
This was a very rushed mani, possible only because I was already wearing the base of Strange. Maybe one of these days I will not be in a rush. Until the next post, stay warm and keep healthy!
Heh, Canadian tuxedo nails. 🙂 I told Mr. Finger Candy that next time we go to Disney, we really have to lay on the Canadian thing – mitts, hats with ear flaps, plaid, Can tux. These nails would fit right in.
