I knew I was going to use this polish for the colour inspiration prompt as soon as I placed my order several months ago — this is An Unexpected Journey by Glam Polish. This is one of those of shades I almost think of as a lack of colour; mind you, that’s not the same as a clear polish. It’s more of an ethereal, delicate grey/beige tone that I cannot quite describe. Suspended in this lack-of-colour base polish are irridescent hex glitter particles as well as a good scattering of micro-holographic particles. I stumbled upon this polish quite accidentally when purchasing another polish and it was love at first sight! I have used this polish before, but somehow have never posted any nail art using this.
This polish is very sheer, so I decided to layer it over the nude-beige Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Bare Hug. I love how glowy the two look together; this is a very sparkly, yet muted manicure. Over the base, I applied a simple stamp using Moyra Femme Fatale (plate-28). The camera had a hard time picking up all the irridescence of this polish; in real life, my nails looked very glowy & sparkly, much like the bottle.
On a different note, I’ve been a little under the weather and also busy preparing for our upcoming and much-anticipated two-week vacation to the Canadian Rockies. I haven’t gotten around to doing my nails at all for almost two weeks now; yes, I’ve been walking around with nails au naturel, and that’s how I intend to keep it during the trip as well. I intend to catch up on all the remaining prompts after I return, albeit with short nails, as I’m cutting my nails short for the trip since I always break my nails at airports. See you on the other side of my vacation & let me know how you like this one!
