The prompt for day #2 of the 31 day nail art challenge is “orange”, so I went with a marbled sandwich bag manicure. This time, I skipped the white base colour and directly applied the blobs of orange, yellow and white nail polish over my bare nails. I thought there was sufficient coverage even without the white base.
I rather like the whimsy of the sandwich bag and other marbling techniques, and left it at this. I think this might make a nice background for stamping as well. I applied a base coat to protect my nails, and then used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed and White On for the marbling effect. I did not apply my DIY peel-off base coat (crafting glue thinned down with some water) around my nails for this. Regardless, this entire manicure took 5 minutes, including clean-up time. If you would like to join in this weekly nail art challenge, just post your pictures on your blog or other social media and tag the picture with the hashtag #31dc2016weekly.
Secondly, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I usually add new nail art pictures to the gallery. I will not be doing this with the weekly challenge. These posts will all be available under the nail art tab [Nails → Nail Art → 31DC2016], and will not be displayed in the gallery.
Let me know what you think! And if possible, join me! The next prompt is “yellow”.
