Hello, folks! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Baby ACD is still fighting a cold and fever, so I didn’t have time to do my nails at all this week. Here’s a mani I wore several weeks, maybe even months, ago and never got around to posting. And there’s more where this came from!
This was a particularly fun mani to wear, and I think I had it on for nearly two weeks, quite unusual for me! Here’s why: The base, as you can tell, is a thermal polish – Tonic Polish Monster Mash, to be specific. It is a deep periwinkle colour when cold and transitions to a soft lilac in its warm state. In both states, it has a strong green-purple shifting shimmer.
What you don’t see here (and I don’t have the tools to photograph it) is that it is also a glow-in-the-dark polish. Now, I don’t own many of those so I don’t know what the norm is, but this one stayed lit in the dark for hours! It definitely freaked me out (and baby too!) more than once!!! Add to the thermal and glow the fact that the stamping polish is a multichrome, there was always something fun going on with this manicure!
I’m wearing two coats of Monster Mash on all nails, and used nail art tape to create the negative space on the ring and middle fingers. This was my first time using double-processed stamping to make the stamping more conspicuous. I have done double-processed stamping before (watch this video if you haven’t heard of this technique before), and always found the result a bit messy-looking. But when I saw this video that used it to make the stamping colours stand out, I thought it was an ingenious use of the technique!
I stamped the scrolls from Moyra Ornaments (plate-03) and used the negative space image from Creative Shop plate-71. As stamping polish, I used Moyra black as the base and Tonic Polish Dragon Parade, a blue-green shifting multichrome, on top.
You have to love that shift in Dragon Parade! This was such a fun mani to wear, as I already raved and rambled about earlier!
Dragon Parade has been my dream multichrome shade for years now and somehow I just couldn’t find one with the right shades of blue and green. It comes as a big surprise to me that I haven’t yet used it in a full mani! Monster Mash, on the contrary, is one I wasn’t quite sure about and to be very honest, I placed it in my cart just so I would reach the threshold for discounted shipping. Little did I know I would love it so much! Don’t you love when that happens?!?!
Let me know what you think of this mani in the comments! I’ve been hoping to put up some non-nail art crafts that I have been engaging in, but a failure to take pictures of the final product has been getting in the way. I’m hoping I’ll be able to do that sometime soon (or at least before I use up all the product!) and write up the post.
Until the next post, stay healthy, don’t be like Baby ACD!
