I’ve been waiting for this day of the challenge – rainbow nails! I’m normally not a rainbow nails kind of person & would find this day of the challenge rather intimidating. However, I saw a tutorial for Japanese watercolour nails a couple of months ago by Jasmine Oshima, founder of Neiru, a website that hosts online workshops for nail art, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it out :-D.
I like this manicure, especially the fact that the colours can be made to overlap. I would do certain things differently if I were to do this over again – use a white background instead of beige, maybe not do this on every nail, not line each petal with black and definitely not put dots on the ring finger! I might try another watercolour manicure in one of the future challenges. Let me know how you feel about this one!
The background is my recently transformed beige frankenpolish (see this for more details), and the flowers are painted with acrylic paints. Here’s another close-up:
If you would like to join in this weekly nail art challenge, post your pictures on your blog or other social media and tag the picture with the hashtag #31dc2016weekly. Secondly, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I usually add new nail art pictures to the gallery. I will not be doing this with the weekly challenge. These posts will all be available under the nail art tab [Nails → Nail Art → 31DC2016], and will not be displayed in the gallery.
