NOTW: Butterfly Blobbicure

Hello, there! I’ve been getting into blobbicures recently. They are very easy to do and can look really organic & nice. I saw a video by Eugenia (@laqvid) recently — she does the most amazing blobbicures & wet-on-wet manis — and decided to give this design a try:

I’m very happy with how this turned out, although it needs much more work to be perfect. Also, it was one of those rare occasions when the photos came out looking the way my nails looked up front; not washed out or too yellow. I’m trying to figure out the optimal settings for my photos, and it’s been a huge learning curve.

Anyway, back to this manicure: the base colour is OPI What’s The Hatter With You and the “blobs” are made with Essie For The Twill Of It. I love this Essie polish, but it is ridiculously difficult to photograph and the colour shift is very elusive! Most of the time, it just appears to be a steely grey-brown. The OPI polish was a bit of a surprise; I just happened upon it at a store and it was on sale so I grabbed it, and now I just love it! You can check out Eugenia’s video here to see how it’s done.

Let me know what you think of this manicure in the comments! Check out my other nail art adventures in the nail art gallery or under the nail art tab, or follow me on Instagram (@altercontroldelight) which I use exclusively for nail art.
