Of Chiropods

Hiya! It’s Halloween in April here on my blog. I love nothing better than Halloween nail art, so when I saw Creative Shop’s prompt of “things that scare you the most” for this week’s giveaway, I had to partake!

In this mani, I feature some (centi?)millipedes. Technically, chiropods are not my biggest fear, but they do give me the shivers. Also, the colour orange, while not scary, is way out of my comfort zone. Incidentally, it turned out that My Bliss Kiss is currently hosting a colour challenge and orange is the theme of the week. I didn’t know that at the time I did this, but this will be my entry for that as well. Without further ado, here’s my concoction featuring a magnetic, a texture, a glitter jelly and some stamping – all of my favourite things rolled into a single mani.

On my thumb, index and pinky fingers, I’m wearing two coats of Masura Unicorn’s Golden Horn, magnetized. On my ring finger is three coats of Zoya Pixie Dust in Dhara, over which I stamped using Born Pretty black stamping polish and Creative Shop plate-150. On my middle finger, I have on one coat of Sinful Colours Black On Black, a plain black crème, and one coat of KBShimmer You Go Ghoul, a black jelly with purple, berry and orange hex glitters. Over this, I double-stamped an image from Creative Shop plate-58 and Born Pretty stamping polish in white and orange.

I think my favourite here is the middle finger because it makes me feel that the crawlies from the ring finger are closing in on me! Let me know what you think of this mani in the comments. I’ll leave you with a last shot of the mani!

  1. These are awesome! Highly approve of the Summerween (Springween?) nails (and I’ve always wondered what You Go Ghoul looks like – very pretty.) Years ago I was house sitting for a friend who lived downtown in the neighbourhood just off Main, and I found the HUGEST centipede crawling around her sink – from across the room I thought it was a little dish brush or something that had fallen over. Apparently that neighbourhood was beset with the creepy devils, shudder.

    1. Yikes, that sounds like the stuff of nightmares! I hope I never see one like that. We found a smallish one in the basement when we first moved into this house, I still won’t let baby walk around in there!

You Go Ghoul really is pretty. KBShimmer does glitter jellies/crellies so well! Also, Halloween is a state of mind, it should be all year round! 😀
