Hello, folks, a very happy Friday to you! You know what Friday means around here lately – it’s time for some fluid nail art! I didn’t skip Fluid Friday last week; I posted them on Instagram, but didn’t quite manage to put them up on the blog. I shall be rectifying that in a little while.
I got to pick the colour palette this week! I have had this inspiration palette saved for a while now, and have been dying to do fluid art with it and I’m so glad we all got to use this. As always with fluid art, everyone got very different results, and my own nail art seems quite far from the inspiration and a bit more somber than I had intended. However, I do like the results.
I used all six colours in the bars, but totally lost the purple somewhere amidst all the blue tones.
My phone camera has been acting up, and I finally took out the real camera. I’m still working on figuring out the settings that work best, so bear with me for a couple of posts.
The polishes I used for this mani are Moyra stamping polish in Vanilla (pale yellow), Cirque Colors Bowery (rust) & Rockaway (grey-teal), Wet n Wild I Need A Refresh-mint (pale mint-blue), Tonic Polish First Kiss (purple) and Pure Ice Laven-dare (pale grey).
I apologize for the hazy macros – as I said, my phone camera is as good as useless, but I don’t have a macro lens for my real camera…
I love that the pale yellow held its own (that was my rationale for using the stamping polish), but a little disappointed that the gorgeous Tonic purple was lost. I guess a muted purple with blue shimmer wasn’t the best of choices amidst all the other blue tones.
Anywho, you live and learn. I totally forgot to take shots of the decals this week. I have been feeling a bit lazy ever since my submission last week, and have neither done much nail art, nor felt like blogging about past manis. I’m trying to get my mojo back, and shall post last week’s fluid mani right after this one.
Also, I’m really beginning to feel the Halloween feels right about now. I have a couple of creepy manis planned and am itching to do those. What are your plans for the rest of summer? I, for one, am ready for some cool & crisp fall weather after this sweltering heat wave we’re having. On that note, I’ll sign off to go dunk myself in a tubful of cold water! Toodles!
