My love affair with owls goes back several decades. Without betraying my age, let me just say I’ve pretty much loved owls all my life! So, the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of the letter, O, is owls, of course! I have a very cute owl-themed stamping plate, but I wanted to go back to my pre-stamping days and freehand this one. Here’s how it turned out:
Despite the clown pants-y spots, I am really happy with how this turned out! The nail polishes I used were Wet n Wild in I Need A Refresh-Mint, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Black Out, White On and Mellow Yellow, Essie in Limo-Scene, and my coral and medium-grey frankenpolish. I also topped all nails with a matte top coat (Revlon Matte Top Coat) because, let’s face it, nearly everything looks better matte. Here’s a close-up:
Let me know what you think of this manicure!

Your owls are so cute! Clever use of negative space where the tops of their heads are. I especially love how you varied the size and color of the polka dots- it adds such a whimsical feel.

Thank you! I wish I’d come up with the negative space bit, but I didnt. I saw it on a bunch of manis on Pinterest while searching for half moon manis & loved it!
