Hello, folks! I’m finally on the foliage nails bandwagon, and given how much I love leaves, it comes as a great surprise to me that it took me pretty much all year to hop on! I did this mani for a birthday collaboration on Instagram – the person whose birthday it is likes leaf patterns a lot and it seemed like the perfect occasion to try.
The base is a polish I’ve spent many an hour drooling over and I’m thrilled it’s finally mine! Masura Mint and Basil is a deep blue jelly base with green magnetic shimmer, and it is everything I’d imagined and more. I stamped the golden brushstrokes over it using Maybelline Bold Gold and Maniology plate M058. Next, I picked up different leaf images from another plate by Maniology (BM-S321) and black and white stamping polishes (Moyra black and Born Pretty white) and stamped in a random fashion on each nail.
I am very happy with how this turned out! The third macro from the top is my favourite one (my ring finger) where I reused the white polish left over on my scraper and didn’t manage to pick up the entire leaf – I love how distressed and grungy it looks!
Of course, because magnetic polish is pure magic, I made a short video to show the depth. I’ll leave you with that for today. Let me know in the comments whether you’ve tried this nail art trend yet. Until the next post, stay polished!
