Caught In A Loop

Hi, there! Ever since my defense last month, poor Baby ACD seems to be caught in an awful cycle of illness. She started going to daycare around that time, and from what we’re told, this is fairly common at the beginning when babies get exposed to more germs. It should help build immunity in the long run, but boy, is it tough in the moment! And the emotional adjustment process cannot possibly be any easier for her with a weakened body.

I did this mani a couple of weeks ago, but it seemed appropriate while I hold Baby as she sleeps and think of how we’ve been going through the same motions in a loop for weeks now.

The base is two coats of Cirque Colors Hatch, a white speckled polish with tiny black flakies. Here’s a look at just the base:

I stamped the circles image using Moyou London Holy Shapes-11 and Moyra black stamping polish. Next, I stamped the same image using Maybelline Bold Gold. I filled in the image on the stamper using three other Cirque Colors crèmes – Red Hook (brick red), Rockaway (dusty teal) and Urbanized (mustard yellow). I let the polish dry, then made a decal using a non-quick-dry top coat. Once the decal was dry, I lined up the decal with the black stamping I had done previously. Some quick clean-up and a matte top coat later, it was done!

I was impatient and started applying the decal before the topcoat had completely dried, resulting in a little bit of warping and imperfect alignment. The black stamping was meant to look like a shadow, but it didn’t quite turn out the way I had intended. Oh, well, practice makes perfect. I still kind of liked it.

What do you think of this mani? Let me know in the comments. Until the next post, stay healthy and send some good vibes our way!
