It’s the last of the ABC Challenge for a month (we’re off for the month of September) and the prompt is the letter Q. I’ve been dying to try quilted nails, so Q is for Quilted!
The base colour is my medium grey frankenpolish and the purple dots on the pinky and index fingers were done with Pure Ice in Playful Purple. I also applied a single coat of Revlon in Matte Pearl Top Coat over the grey β which lends a pinkish hue to the base grey β but this doesn’t quite show up as clearly as I would like. I used striping tape for the quilted effect and placed some purple glitter (Sinful Colors in Frenzy) at the intersections. Here’s a close-up:
This was my first time trying quilted nails. While it’s not a complete fail, I do think the lines turned out rather messy and scraggly, and need to play around a bit to figure out how to make them smoother. Have you tried quilted nails with tape? Do you have any tips & tricks? Let me know in the comments!
All the ABC Challenge posts will be available under the nail art tab [Nails β Nail Art β ABC Challenge].

Haha, thanks! The process definitely looks easier than it is! Practice makes perfect; that’s what I’m saying to console myself π
